From Serene Beginnings to Overwhelming Struggle: How My Recovery Took an Unexpected Turn...
In the early days of my recovery, I felt a deep sense of peace and hope. There was a lightness to my life that I hadn’t experienced before—I was finally free from the burdens that had held me down for so long. My days were filled with serenity, and I believed I had found a new beginning. But as time went on, the demands of life began to creep back in. My career became increasingly stressful, and the high expectations I placed on myself started to weigh me down.
That sense of peace gradually slipped away as I tried to balance everything. The pressures of my job in Silicon Valley, along with my own drive for success, led to a growing disconnect from the practices that had once kept me grounded. The serenity I had once felt was replaced by a sense of overwhelm, and soon, I found myself back in survival mode. I struggled to maintain the inner calm I had worked so hard to cultivate, and as my health began to suffer, so did my emotional resilience. What started off as a hopeful journey toward healing and wholeness shifted into a period of deep struggle, leaving me searching once again for balance and restoration.

After facing a series of health challenges that left me physically and emotionally drained, I realized it was time to take control of my well-being. I began by reevaluating what I was putting into my body, but my journey went far beyond nutrition. Drawing on my long-standing practice of Centering Prayer meditation and the wisdom of modern mystics, I incorporated deep spiritual healing into the process. I stopped relying on external advice and tuned into my body and spirit, allowing them to guide me toward real transformation.
As I dove into the world of holistic health and experimented with what worked for me, my body began to heal itself. It became clear that true wellness isn’t just about exercise or restrictive diets, but about a deeper connection between mind, body, and spirit. The weight I had gained and the chronic symptoms I was experiencing were not just physical—they were manifestations of stress, imbalance, and spiritual disconnection. Once I integrated these aspects into my healing, not only did the physical weight come off, but I felt a huge burden lift from my soul.
This transformation inspired me to create Bliss Sobriety, a program designed to help those of you who are sober or sober-curious achieve vibrant health, energy, and spiritual fulfillment without feeling deprived or overwhelmed by daily life. Through a combination of mindful nutrition, spiritual practices like Centering Prayer, and a holistic approach to health, I guide my clients toward lasting change.
